For this Summer Learning Journey activity we were asked to tell weather or not we think the taniwha is real. A Taniwha is a Maori Mythical creature that lives in the sea. I can't argue with your theory - there has been no proof that a taniwha is alive. It still makes great stories though, right?
What creature would you say is the closest to a taniwha in the real world?
For some reason I think of giant lizards. I saw one come out of the bush once in Sri Lanka, but I didn't see it for long because it disappeared again.

DeleteSorry For the late reply. I do find Taniwha stories to be fascinating. I would like to hunt for a taniwha to see if it is real.
The creature that I think that is similar to a taniwha is a eel or crocodile.
