Activity 3 : Ready for Learning | Cybersmart

L.I Be cybersmart and use our devices to Learn, Create & Share.

In this activity, we were asked to create a set-up for distance learning. This was if another lock-down occurred and we needed to continue with our learning at home. The point of this, is for us to know what we are doing when joining google meets, and becoming more confident.

In this DLO, we were required to put in 5 different links. The links that were required was our class room link, school website, my class blog, my own blog and the SLJ. These links were learning links, which we can easily let us catch up with the latest learning or updates on school.

We also had to think of top tips for effective online learning - location top tips and participation top tips. If you wanna learn more about tips of joining a google meet, check out the last slide of the presentation.

I really enjoyed this activity, because I got to create a set-up, and remind myself what it would be like in distance learning.

In this DLO showcased above, I have completed the second activity. In this slideshow, i was required to find out more about the chromebooks keyboard. In the first slide, we needed to put in our name into the keyboard. In the second slide we needed to Move the labels to show the location of these keys on your keyboard. On the third slide we needed to find the shortcuts and put them in the table that was set up for us.

Activity 1: Kawa of Care | Cybersmart

L.I be cybersmart and use our devices to learn, create and share.

In these 3 DLO's above, I have become more familiar with the Kawa Of Care document. In the first two DLO's, i needed to use my knowledge, to complete the requirements that are needed to care for your device, as you can see above. The last DLO, I needed to put in a sensible photo of myself. Around my image shows all of the different things I need to do to respect the Kawa of Care.

Leadership

 L.I to develop Leadership skills.

Leadership, is a vital key into being succesful in the future. With Leadership we are able to overcome negative situations, and become more confident. In this DLO, Rj, Moti, Carter, Akuhata & I have worked together to complete this DLO. In this DLO, it shows all of the key attributes of of a what a leader shows, and what a leader is. Therefore, I group has learnt from this activity, about what it takes to be a leader, and why a leader plays a key role in leading. I really enjoyed learning about Leadership, as it has taught me to have confidence, and have a positive attitude. Here are the Results.

Hydration & Health

L.I to understand why staying hydrated is important for our learning and health.

As you may know, our bodies are mostly made up of water. Drinking water regularly makes you hydrated and full of energy, but the opposite is being dehydrated. Being dehydrated is when your body isn’t getting enough water that it needs. This causes tiredness, lack of energy, dry lips, and dark colored urine. Each day it is important to fill your body with water, especially during school, when every time we breathe we lose more water. Water can help your body stay cool, and healthy. there are many benifits water can do for you

In groups of 2-4 we created a DLO explaining why being hydrated is good for both health and learning. In my group there was Tanisha, Peyton, Fau and I. We worked collaboratively to define, dehydration and hydration.

After reading this DLO I hope you have a good understanding on why is it very important to keep hydrated by drinking water, here are the results.

Pie Chart | Maths

L.I To plan and carry out a statistical investigation.

Fau, Chris and I asked different students in LS2 4 different questions. Those questions were; ‘What is your favorite Color’ ‘What is your favorite Animal’ ‘What is your favorite Food’ and ‘What is your favorite brand’. After gathering the data, we recorded it on a piece of paper and then created a graph. We chose one of the 4 questions as a topic for our graph. The question we chose was ‘What is your favorite Color?’. 4 students liked blue, 4 students liked purple, 2 students like black, 2 people liked green, 1 person liked Sage, 1 person liked red, and 1 person liked yellow. With the data gathered, we formed a pie chart/graph. from this graph that we had created, we found out the percentage of the classrooms, favourite colors, the results can be shown above.

I really enjoyed this activity, because it was very fun to ask students about their personal favourites and finding out the color that the majority of the class like.

Summary of Tiriti o Waitangi

L.I to explain in fewer words what the text is about.

The treaty of Waitangi is a day of celebration to remember a historical day of peace; where the treaty was signed by many chiefs. Today we worked collaboratively in our groups, to summarise and learn about the history of the Treaty of Waitangi. In this activity we got to learn more about the Treaty of Waitangi and about why it was signed by many chiefs so New Zealand could be a part of the British Empire. One fact that I found very interesting, was how the British didn't properly translate the Te Tiriti treaty, which caused the Maori to think they were signing something else. I really enjoyed that we got to learn more about the Treaty of Waitangi, so that we know why it is a holiday in NZ, aside from ignoring the history behind it.
