Making a Racket | Summer Learning Journey | Week 1 Day 4 Activity 1

L.I to watch a video about  Serena and Venus William and tell us three things that you have learnt and one thing that you would want to know.
Today I am doing the summer Learning Journey Day 4 Activity 1. The SUmmer LEarning JOurney is a programme that helps children keep track of their learning during their holidays. I am glad that my school is taking part in this program because I can get more blog post and learn about different types of things.

For this activity, we were asked to watch a video about Serena and Venus. Serena and Venus Williams are professional tennis players. We had to find three things that I had learnt from the video's.

What I had Learnt:
  • I had learn that Serena and Venus Williams had fought their way to get woman recognized. 
  • Serena Williams made 84 million dollars. 
  • The William Sisters are continuing to break barriers in sports.

    I have enjoyed reading about the three facts you have learnt from the video. I mostly found the second fact interesting, how Serena earned 84 million dollars. It seems like you have put a lot of effort into your Summer Learning Journey activities. Did you find out new information about both Serena and Venus William?

    Kia Ora Sulia,

    Well done on coming up with interesting facts about the Williams sisters. Did you know that Serena Williams is in Auckland at the moment. She is participating in the ASB Classic, a tennis tournament that is held in Auckland every January. She has just played in a quarter final match and she has won! So she will be playing in the semi finals tomorrow. Have you ever played tennis before?

    Greetings Sulia! I'm glad you found out more about the William's Sisters, and the Gender pay gap in the sporting community. I agree which each of the facts you learnt, especially how Venus and Serena continue to break barriers! What was the most interesting thing you learnt in the videos? Well done!
