As apart of completing my 5 Matariki Blog Post's; Juel, Fau, Vayan and I, had wokred ollaborativly to complet our fourth DLO. In this DLO we have included the 3 birds that hvae partcipated in the Matariki harvest. The three birds Kereru, Tui and Common Myna. 3 

What is Matariki? | Matarik Challenge 3

L.I to learn what Matariki is and why its Celabrated. 

As apart of completing the 5 Matariki Maori Challenge's; Juel, Fau, Vayan and I, have worked collaborativly together, to find out the meaning of what Matariki is. Throughout Aotearoa, for many years, during late May and early June, The Matariki Stars will appear. It can also been know as a cluster of stars known as the 7 sisters Here are the Results. 

Harvesting | Matariki Challenge 2

L.I to create a DLO explaining how people Harvest food to celabrate Matariki.

Apart of completing one of the 5 Matariki Challenges, i have now completed two DLO's. THis DLO is showcasing the equitment that is needed for Harvesting food, in the Maori Tradition. This includes three main equitment known as: Ko, Timo and Kaheru. I had worked with Juel on this task as apart of Collaboration. We got this information from https://www.tepapa.govt.nz/. 

Matariki Drawing Star Constellation | 1 Te Reo Maori Challenge

L.I to celebrate the Matariki stars. 

As apart of celabrating and  accomplishing my #1,Matariki Maori Challenge, I have created my own version of the Matariki Constellation. In this Constellation, I have named and added as much detail as I could. Here is the Results of the Challenge. 

Cityscape of Los Angeles

L.I: to write a description of my cityscape using prepositions.

In the middle of the cityscape of Los Angeles, You can see the U.S Bank Tower. The U.S Bank Tower is 310 metres and is slightly smaller than the sky tower. The U.S Bank Tower’s construction started in 1987 and was completed in 1989. As strange as it may seem, the U.S Bank Tower was then sold to Singapore for $367.5 million. Did you know that they build their buildings at a slight angle for the bad earthquakes?

In the centre you can also see the reflection of the cityscape. We used black paper to make the colors stand out. 

For the background, I had used cool colors, known as Violet, Green and blue. The colors that I had used to create a night look were, Purple and Blue. I had added a little bit of white and a bit of black to the two colors to add a vibrant gradient. I would have never thought that using cotton buds on pastel chalk would work on paper. 

Think Outside the Box no.2

L.I to think outside the box, be creative and finish the picture.
As a part of devolping our Art skills, We practiced drawing by being creative. Our teacher had created a small line, where we had to be creative and try to use that line in a drawing. This was fun and interesting because we got to go outside of our comfort zone and develop new skills. What I had drew, was a ice cream/cone. I chose to do Mango Ice cream beause it is my favourite! What is your favourite?

Art Challenge - Out of the Box

L.I To think outside the box, be creative and finish the picture.

To help us develope our creativity, we practiced drawing and thinking out of the box. with this peice of drawing, at first it was a line, we then had to be creative and draw something with that line. In my mind what came up was a puzzle. You can see what I drew down below here.

Malo e lelei my name is Sulia, I am a year 7 and attend Panmure Bridge School. I am from a small island called Tonga. I was born and raised in New Zealand. I have two brothers. In school my favourite subjects are Reading and Writing. My learning goals for this year is to complete at least one or two books a month and learn different types of methods in maths. My favourite band is Bon Jovi and my favourite singer is Celine Dion. I am good at playing Guitar, Ukulele, Piano.

L.I to learn the language behind Maori.
This week in Maori we have been learning the language of Maori. Today we have Focused on the word Goodbye and why we ask people Where do you come from. Saying 'Where you come from'. For Maori people it is really important to ask that question because it creates a link with that person. We also learnt about why Maori's use Macrons. Macrons are the line on top of the letter.

L.I to learn about Te Reo Maori.

This Week in Te reo we had learnt of different ways to greet whanau(Family). For the First activity, we had to watch two videos. In those videos they showed people talking to each other in Maori. The next thing that we had to do was write down the English sentences for the Maori sentences. For the next activity we had to do the same thing but it had to do with a family, for example: 'Ko wai te papa Lisa? The main words that would help us with it was  kuia(Grandmother/old lady), koro(Grandpa/old man), mama(mom), papa(dad)
