Today I have decided to do a can do. This can do is SSR Seifle. SSR selfie is a slide where you can talk about your book. The Story book that I have read is The Tiger rising.

Poem about Fear | inquiry

L.I to write a poem about feelings.
This week for Inquiry we had picked an emotion or feeling. The feeling that I have chosen to do is Fear. Fear is being afraid of something or someone. I had done an Haiku Poem. We had also learnt other types of poems like Diamante, Cinquain and Limerick. This poem is about the clown Pennywise. I had used a Google Doc to write down this Poem.

What is a Haiku Poem? A Haiku poem is a Japanese poem. A Haiku Poem is also a poem that its first and last line have syllables and the middle line has seven syllables.

Summarizing and Current events | Reading

L.I to unlock keywords to summarize a text. 

This week for reading we had read school journals. this story was about a boy named cooper had received an email that showed he has a ticket to visit his dad in Australia. we had to take a screenshot of each page and find some keyword. we also had to answer the five W's and the How. We also had to summarize the story under twenty-five words. Our next task was Current events. Current Events is an event that is currently going on. The article we had read about was Wellingtons Beaches smoke-free. In this we had gotten into a group of four and read four articles. We had to answer the 5 W's and the How. we also had write about the opinions. My opinion of this is that it is good to ban smoking at wellington beaches because it can hurt there health and it can hurt birds health's. 

Music

L.I to learn how to play music in duets
This week for Music LS1 group B had played the xylophone. The songs that we had learnt how to play were Lean on me, One Call Away and Shotgun. In our partners we had to play as a duet. So if One partner played Note F the other partner would have to also play F. I was by myself so I just played one note.

Editing Partners work | Writing

L.I revise and edit a recount.
for Writing we had partnered up with a person in our group. Each of us had forty minutes to write a recount about either Kiwi Sport(Ki o Rahi ), Kiwi Sport and Music. I had chosen to do Kiwi Sport first Session.  When we had finished we had to mark each others work. Who ever didn't do that much edits had to do two recounts a bout the things we didn't write about. Then when your partner had finished editing they had to copy and paste thing work they edits on the story that I did. We also done points. For each edit that your partner had done it was one point.

Kiwi Can | friendship

L.I to learn how to be in a good friendship.
For Kiwi Can topic and theme is Friendship and Positive Relationships. Our teachers for this week was Miss. Mac and Mr. H. Our energizer for this weeks kiwi can was Last man standing. In this game we had to walk around. Mr shawn our teacher had to call somebody's name and that person was a tagger and they had to tag as much as people as they can and who ever got out had to go and sit on the side. After this energizer we had talked about Good secrets to keep and bad secrets to keep. Some bad secrets to keep is If your friend tells that he has stole something. We had also talked about including others even if they had ruined your game. I would let that person play because it showing integrity and showing respect.  The Next thing we had done was our activity. Our activity was called secret cards. We had gotten into groups. Mr H handed each group three cards. On each side of the room there was two balloons. On each balloon it said Bad and good. With the cards we had to put the good secrets where ballon says good and the bad secrets at the balloon that says bad. If we were not sure we could put the cards in the middle.

I enjoy this weeks Kiwi Can because we got to learn things about friendships. I think that group B should work on respect.

Statistics | Math

LI: to learn something about the class or school using statistics.
Statistics means gathering information to answer a question. In our maths groups we had to make a survey showing different areas(zones) that you would like to sit in. You can fill out this form by picking an area you like to sit in. We used a google draw to put in the school photos and used Google Forms to make the survey.

Cricket Interschools

This Week Wednesday A couple of students and me had went to the the Cricket Interschools. there were three teams, The girls team yr 5-8, Boys team yr 5-6 and the Senior boys team yr 7-8 this took place at Collins Maiden park . We had taken a bus there. when we had arrived we had saw that the other schools had started practicing. 

The teams that we had Versed was Stonefield 1 which we won, Tamaki Primary won cheerfully, Stan Hope also won, Stonefield 2 Happily won and Pt England Sadly lost. I did not partake in the Tamaki Primary and Pt England round. The team that we had beat by miles was Stan Hope.

the Game Of Ki o Rahi Last Session | Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn how to play the game of Ki o Rahi
For our Last Session of Kiwi Sport We had played the game Ki o rahi. Ki o rahi is A game back in the day that was used to sort out Arguments. The Characters in Ki o Rahi is also based on a story of Rahi and his Wife. To play we had to be split into two teams. Red Tags team( First team) and the Orange Tag team( Second Team).

How the Game works:  The Game starts of with a person from the Red tag team had to start of with kicking the ball. If the ball lands in the Pawero(Island) the Kaitiaki have to pass it to a person in the world. The people in the world have to hit a Ou(Taniwhas Teeth) and score a try in the middle.

Poems, Vowels and Consonance | Inquiry

L.I to Identify purposes of Poems.
For Mr Wong's Inquiry group we had learnt about poems. We had also learnt about Consonance and Vowels. For our activity Mr. Wong had set Up a Doc where we had to make a copy for our group. There are four poems that we had learnt which are: End Rhyme, Alliteration, Assonance and Consonance. In each poem we had to pick what kind of poem it is.

What is a Poem: A poem is a text that is talking about an Idea or feelings. A poem can also rhyme and some don't need to rhyme.

Basic facts Boxes

L.I to learn more basic facts.
Today In my spare time I had done an Extra which is Basic Facts boxes. in this Basic Facts Boxes, I decided to time myself. My time is 2m and 38s. for timing I would like to get my timing under a minute. Basic Facts Boxes Help me memorize my basic facts because if anyone would ask any basic facts I could just answer it.

Punctuation and Improved Paragraph | Writing

L.I to identify different recounts.

 For Mr. Ogilvie's writing group we had to make a poster about Punctuation marks. We also had to pick a paragraph from the messed up story and add different words to it. For this, I had to make a two poster on google draw

Punctuation poster: In this Punctuation, we had to write down what these Punctuations are used for. Some Punctuations I didn't Know was a punctuation sign.

Improved Paragraph Poster: In this poster, we had to pick a paragraph of the messed up Story and put in different words. I had put in words that were more Describing. 

SSR Selfie

Today In my spare time I had Decided to do a SSR selfie. SSR selfie is an activity to do when you are done with work. The story book that I have done today is Myths and Legends Ancient Britain and Ireland.

Place Value grid | Math

LI: to shift between place values using multiplication

for Mr. Wongs Math group we had to make a grid showing Place Values. In this Place value grid, we had to pick six numbers and times that number by 10's, 100's and 1000's. We had to do one as an example and one as a group. We had to make a spreadsheet to do this.

What is Place Value: Place value is like grouping numbers into place, for example, if I have the number 45(forty-five) this number means 4 tens and 5 ones. 

Tasman Glacier | reading

LI- To unlock keyword to summarise a text.

This week in Reading we learned more about Key Words. Mr. Ogilvie had set up a doc for Our Reading group which had a story about how the duck overboard. We had to highlight the keywords in Green and Yellow. After doing the keywords we had to move on to the five W's. In this activity, we had to answer the five W's which are about the story that we did which was the Duck Overboard. At the bottom of the doc, we had to summarise the story under 25 words. When we had finished this, we had to make a copy and find a different story from Kiwi Kids News. We had to do the same thing with the other story with the story from Kiwi Kids News.

BlindFold

L. I to create a cooperative game. 

This Week in Inquiry Mr Ogilvies group we had to create a game. OUr game was Blindfold Chase. We only got given one equipment which was Blindfolds.

Ki o Rahi

L.I to learn how to play Ki o Rahi.
This Week in Kiwi Sport it was our Second to last Session of Ki o Rahi. We had played the full game of Ki o Rahi. We had played with tags. I was in team Taniwha. It was complicated because there was a lot of things that you had to do. The other team was really good because they kept on getting tries. After we did the first round we switched teams. I think that Our team should have worked more on Communication.

Math

L.I to make a flipgrid Explaining place Values.
This Week for math we had to make a flip grid of how to use Place Values. I had Learnt a shortcut of how to tell tens and hundreds in a number. For example 4246. In this number there are 424 tens and 42 hundreds. My flipgrid can tell you why it is this answer.

Music

L.I to learn the basics about the ukulele.
LS1 Group B went room 8 for music. This Week I got to play the ukulele. We went outside to play we practiced songs like Shotgun. I also Showed of my skills of playing Despacito. While I was playing it My fingers started to get a blister. So then I stopped playing with that finger and played with the other finger.

Writing | Said Poster

L.I to list words that are different than said.

This Week In Writing We were put into groups to make lists of words that are either Verbs, Adverbs, Adjectives, Emotions, Said or M/F. When we finished with that list we had to team up with other groups that had done the same word. We had to share it with them and Make a poster about the list. Here is our poster. there is a big 70 because that is how many words that we had listed. there was actually 100 put it couldn't really fit. 

Reading| Peter beck

L. I to apply the different strategies we use in Reading.
This week in Mr. Ogilvies Reading group we were assigned to make a slide about a Politician, Scientist, sports person, Music person, Drama\ Actor person, and a business person that is from NZ. We had got Peter Beck. Mr.Ogilvie Gave us some information about him so we had researched more about him. Peter Beck is the Founder of the rocket lab.

Lesson with Constable cyrus| Abuse

L.I to learn about different Abuses.
This Thursday Afternoon in the School Hall we had a lesson with Constable Cyrus. Constable Cyrus is a safety lesson Police. We had a little talk about KOS. After this little talk we had played an Activity. Constable had asked some people to put up some signs which were of Abuses on the walls around the hall. Here are the types of Abuse.

1. Physical abuse
2. emotional abuse
3. Not Abuse
4. Sexual abuse
5. Neglect
6. Family Violence
7. Cyber Abuse

What we had to do was Constable Cyrus said some situations and we had to stand by the sign that we thought that was that abuse. 

Kiwi Can | Co-Operation

L.I is to Co-operate in your team.
Co-Operating is Working as a team to complete something. This Week in Kiwi Can we had learnt about Co-operating. We had played an activity called Opposite. This game worked like this. So if Mrs paige said put your head down we had to do the opposite and put our head up. I came in late put I still got to play one round. After this we had talked more about co-operating. For me the word co-operating means Working with a team and using teamwork. The most important thing in team that has to be used is Communication because if you don't communicate you won't get anything accomplished. Know it was time for our activity. It was called Command and Conquer. So you had to get into four groups. One person had to be a leader each round. So the leader had to go to Mrs Mack and Mrs Mack would tell the leaders what the teams had to do. Who ever did that thing that Mrs Mack asked the leaders to do the fastest would win the round. Our team won eventually.

I had Enjoyed this Weeks Kiwi Can because I got to learn a new Topic and Learnt different games.

L.I to share what you read about.
Today I have done a can do which is SSR selfie. SSR Selfie is aa can do where you have read a book  from the library. My book that I had picked for this week is Now. It was made by Morris Gleitzman. I suggest reading this book if you like a sad story. 

Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn the role in Ki o rahi.
Kiwi Sport is assigned for our school to be active. In Kiwisport we had played golden child once again. I came in late but I still got to play. I had also got the chance to be guarding the pou and I think I did a really good job. The taniwha only got one hit because I was a really good. Our team won because we got a lot of hits and we got a lot of runs. It was hard to hit the ball on the pou because the guards were really good.

Reading

L. I to make a slide and poster explaining the reading strategies. 

In Mr. Ogilvies Reading group we had played a game to pick our reading strategies. We had got Summarising, Synthesising and Visualising. For this task, we had to do it in our reading groups. We had split our groups into pears to do each Reading strategies. There are three slides and three posters. On the slide there are activities so make a copy from each from these links to it.

a good team and a bad team | Inquiry

L.I to learn how to work as a team.
Teamwork is important in anything that involves a team because working together is the main part of it. Mr. Ogilvies Inquiry had made two posters about what a team is. In the first poster to the left, we had to put in words that a good teammate would do would be black words and the bad words as Red. The feelings had to be inside and the actions are outside of the body. The Second poster is about some good actions that a teammate would do and what a bad teammate would do. While I was doing this with my group I realized that a good team would be listening and sharing each other's ideas.

I went to the shop for 10 minutes | Writing

L.I to make a short sentence better.

Mr Ogilvie's Reading group has made a poster about how to make a short sentences into a better sentence. What is needed in that sentence is Why, How, Where, When and a adjective. Mr O had put a picture on the bog TV for an example that we could use to make our DLO. You could either do it Hand written or Digitally.

Music

L.I to have to confidence to play the ukelele.
Music is set up for LS1 to learn how to play different instruments and having confidence. We had learned how to play more notes on the ukelele. We learned by Mrs. Odie demonstrated the notes to us. The students who were confident enough to play it got to go outside with the song sheets and play those songs. Mr. Ogilvie our teacher also came outside to join our small group. he also tuned all our ukelele with his phone because it didn't really sound right. We started to play songs. I enjoyed this session of Music because it was fun and I got to learn more about an instrument.

Kiwi Can | Praise

L.I to Praise your classmates.
Praising to your classmates are important because you are showing them support and gratitude. You are also Encouraging that person to do better. For kiwi can  our topic and Theme is Positive Communication and Relationships. Positive relationship means having a bond with them or a negative bond. Positive Communication means sharing an idea with that person. Our energizer for kiwi can was Ro,Pa,Sci Meaning Rock paper scissors. Our Activity was Kickball we had to get into two groups and it included a ball and cones.

Cybersmart

L.I to write a succinct blurb for a blog post.
Writing a blurb is Important because it is telling the audience what your blog post. What is needed in a blurb. What is needed in a blurb is how you learned, What you learned what you did and what you used to learn. I learned how to start a blurb and what I need in a blurb. LS1 learned by writing a blurb about Panmure Bridge CARE values as an example. We had to get into a group of three and get a chromebook to type down the blurb.

telling time | Math

L.I to teach people about time.
This week in Math we learned about time. We had to talk about what the short hand is and what the long hand is. We also had to be confident when we talk because math is a type of language. The short hand represents the hours and every 60 minutes the hand will change to the next number. The Long hand represents the minutes and each minutes it will change to the next little line on the clock. 

Types of touch

L.I to make a poster about topics that we had learned.
This week in Inquiry we had to make a poster about a topic that we had learned in Inquiry. The topic that I picked was types of touches. We first had to get into a group. In this Poster we had to include a slogan like Mcdonalds which is I'm lovin it and we also had to include who created this poster.

Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn the role of the taniwha.
This week in Kiwi Sport we  learned how to play the role of the taniwha. The first activity that we had did was hit the tupu with the key. We had to do this under a minute. The yr five team had got 19 hits. The highest score out of all schools were 24 hits. we had beaten the score and got 25 hits. He had 3 tries to get there. The Next activity that we had did was getting the whole team to hit the tupu. put there also had to be two people guarding the tupu so it was hard for the others. we did this three times. we hit the tupu three times so we beat the Yr 5 team. The last activity that we had played was saving rahi's wife. so one person had to be rahi's wife like in the story when the wife gets kidnapped the people in the world have to not get tagged by the taniwha. The taniwha could not tag you if they were in the island . It was hard because they were blocking us most of the time.
