Printing Prosthetic | Summer Learning Journey | Week 3 Day 3 Activity 2

L.I to to tell the readers one thing that surprised you and learned from watching this video.
Today I am doing the Summer Journey's Day 3 Activity 2. The Summer Learning Journey, is a program that helps children keep track of their learning during the holidays. The Summer learning Journey has been running for, four years and my school( Panmure Bridge School) has been at the top of their game. I am glad that my school is participating this year because we get to learn about different sorts of things and get more blog-post.

For this activity we were asked to watch this video, and talk about one thing that surprised you and one thing you learnt. This video was talking about 3-D-Printed Prosthetic Hands. These are 3-D-Printed Prosthetic Hands are used to help children who don't have a body part, which is replaced with a Prosthetic, which is designed to use it has how they would usually use that body part. After watching this video we had to talk about one thing we learnt and one thing that surprised you when you watching this video.

  1. One the that I was Surprised about was that you it costed like tens of thousands of dollars and even if you outgrew them, you still had to pay the full price.

     1. One thing that I learnt was that is that in 2013, e-NABLE has faciliated over 1000                         prosthetic hands.

  1. Hello Sulia! This is a great blog post - you have some really nice ideas. I think it was quite interesting watching the video about 3D prosthetics, and I learnt a lot about them. But I think it's amazing what those volunteers are doing - they are definitely helping others out a lot. What do you think it's like for the kids who get 3D prosthetic? Good job!

  2. Hi Sulia

Great that you are almost there in completing your summer learning journey.
I agree with Victoria that there are some amazing developments in this area of technology that will greatly improve the lives of these people. As you mention it is still very expensive.

  3. 3D printers are amazing aren't they Sulia...have you ever used one? Perhaps PBS could invest in one or maybe you could use the one at TC? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  4. Hi Sulia!,
I have enjoyed reading your blog post about 3D prosthetics. These 3D prosthetics are awesome to help kids. It's amazing how there are inventions of 3D prosthetics. Would you like to create something using the 3D printer?

    Great Work!
