"I have a Dream" | Summer Learning Journey | Week 2 Day 2 Activity 3

L.I to describe the problem that happened with Rosa Parks.
Today I am doing the Summer Learning Journey's Day 2 Activity 3. The Summer Learning Journey is a program that helps children keep track of their learning during the holidays. I am glad that my school is participating because, the school can get more recognition and the students can learn all different sorts of things.  My school(Panmure Bridge School) has had a great job with doing the Summer Learning Journey, so we are hoping to have another great year.

For this activity we were asked to talk about the problem that happened back in the 1950's. Around the 1950's, the white people and black people were separated from each other. They had separate: bathrooms, school's, houses, cities etc. As the bus filled up, the bus driver demanded Rosa Parks to give up her seat for a white male. Roa Parks, refused and the police came to arrest her. People were shocked that she had the guts to even stand up for herself. Rosa was against this and so were others; so they protested against it.

School Strike for Climate | Summer Learning Journey | Week 2 Day 2 Activity 2

Today I had done the Summer Learning Journey's Day 2 Actvity 2. The Summer Learning Journey is a program that helps children keep track of their learning during the holidays. I am glad that my school is participating because, the school can get more recognition and the students can learn all different sorts of things.  My school(Panmure Bridge School) has had a great job with doing the Summer Learning Journey, so we are hoping to have another great year.

For this activity we were asked to list three things that we had learnt from a website called School Strike for Climate Australia website. This site is to give an insight on what is going on with climate change. 

Three things I've learnt:

1. People sacrifice their education to in order to save our futures from climate wrecking.
2. By 2030, they want 100% renewable energy generation and exports. 
3. Politicians aren't doing that much to help the climate change that has been going on.

A long walk to freedom | Nelson Mandela | Summer Learning Journey | Week 2 Day 2 Actvity 1

For this actvity we were asked to imagine if you were Nelson Mandela; and in Robben Island. A journal is given to you to write each night. 

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a social rights activist, politician and philanthropist who became South Africa's first black president from 1994 to 1999. ... In 1993, Mandela and South African President F.W. de Klerk were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to dismantle the country's apartheid system. 

'Dear Jacinda' | Summer Learning Journey | Week 1 Day 1 Actvity 3

For this activity we were asked to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern explaining an issue of your choice. The issue that I had picked was about 'Littering'. The reason why I have chosen this issue is because it has been a big impact on the earth and it isn't safe. Here is the letter I have written.

Today I am doing the Summer Learning Journey's Day 1 Activity 2. The Summer Learning Journey is a program that helps children keep track of their learning during the holidays. I am glad that my school is participating because, the school can get more recognition and the students can learn all different sorts of things.  My school(Panmure Bridge School) has had a great job with doing the Summer Learning Journey, so we are hoping to have another great year.
For this activity we were asked to calculate the ages o Jessa; from when she was born to when she had got her NAIDOC award.  The Equation that we had to solve was :

7 April 1985 + ? = 9 July 2010

My Strategy:

First I took away 9 by 7 : 9 - 7 = 2

Then I added 7 and 2 : 7 + 2 = 9

The Final answers was 2 days.

I went on to the Months and made a number line. I counted from April until July. May, June, July,

The Final answer answer is 3 months.

The final thing that I had to do was calculate the years. I had to find out 1985 + ? = 2010.

First thing I did was add 20 to 1985 : 1985 + 20 = 2005.

 from there I added 5 to 2005 : 2005 + 5 = 2010.

Lastly I added 20 and 5 because those were the numbers that were needed : 20 + 5 = 25.

25 years 3 months 2 days.

My school has been the top school for the Summer Learning Journey for four years, so I hope that we can be on top of our game this year.

Swimming to Safety/Yursa Mardini | Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 5 Actvity 2

L.I to retell the story of Yusra Mardini.

I am so glad that my school is participating in the Summer Learning Journey because that means that I can get more blog post and Learn about cool different things. For this activity we were asked to retell the of a young woman named Yursa Mardini. She is currently a 21 year old girl and was a member of the Refugee Olympic Athletes team.

In 2015 when she was about 18 years old. Yursa and her older sister flew to Europe to find safety from the Syrian War. After fifteen minutes of her sea crossing the engine broke down. Yursa, her sister and two other's managed to save 20 people's lives by swimming.

For this activity, we were asked to watch a video about Serena and Venus. Serena and Venus Williams are professional tennis players. We had to find three things that I had learnt from the video's.

What I had Learnt:

• I had learn that Serena and Venus Williams had fought their way to get woman recognized. 
• Serena Williams made 84 million dollars. 
• The William Sisters are continuing to break barriers in sports.

• I would like Telekinesis because if i'm sick or in a wheelchair, I can just use my telekinesis to get food our get a blanket from somewhere.

• I would like to get Invisibility so that if something was to expensive I could just get it without anybody knowing. 

       3. Teleportation 

• I would like the power of Teleportation because if my parents wanted a holiday, I could just hold them and teleport them wiht me.

Miracle of Hudson | Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2 Activity 3

As I was sitting in front of the whole school, as one of the speech-finalist. Butterflies started to tingle into my stomach and down my spine. I was excited but at the same time scared. As it was the person before me I started to panic. I started to panic about what would happen if had made a mistake. I then sucked it up and I was ready. I was ready and I wasn't shy anymore. As I said my speech I was much more confident.

In this activity we were asked to watch a video. In this video was a company called 'The Water Project'. The Water Project is a charity that has been going to countries that are in need of water. Before all of these types of charities, people had used contaminated water that was dirty and unhealthy to drink.They are trying to help those in-need of drinkable water. Thanks to Water Project, people have access to bathrooms and drinkable water. I think its time to think about people that are in need of water and think twice when you are wasting.
