Positive Body language | Kiwi Can

L.I to have positive Body language.
This week in kiwi can we learned about positive Relationships and communication. A positive relationship means having good communication with someone and positive communication means sharing ideas and giving positive body language, for example, a handshake.

Our energizer for kiwi can this week was fruit salad. So Mrs. Paige had to say a fruit like an apple that meant that we had to move our hips left. Pear meant to move your hips right, Banana meant to move your bottom forward and Watermelon means to move your bottom back. This was really fun but also awkward because when you got out you have to look at the people who are still in the game. We had two rounds of this. This Energizer was to test how well we listen. After the energizer, we talked about Positive body language. Positive body language this means having a positive attitude to a person.

These Activities were made to test our hearing and how we can be positive when we are doing something.

Our activity was Hand soccer. it is just soccer but using your hands. The rules were you could only use one hand at a time and that you couldn't use your legs or knees to kick or block the ball. We had to get into two groups and Mrs. Paige numbered each group from 1-10. it was really tiring and hard because I was versing a boy. This Activity was to see if you could be positive while playeing a game.

lastly, to finish off kiwi can we played GKQ which means General knowledge Questions. The Buzzer was to say your 'name'. The master was Chris.

Learning Chords | Music

L.I to learn how to play easy Chords.
This Week In Music we learned how to play easy chords with  Whaia Odie. Our first song that we had learned was One Call Away. I was playing on a xylophone. The first chords that we played were C, G, A and F. The next song that we had played was shot gun. It was the same as one call away but it was just notes. This song sounded way better because it was just notes. The Next song that we had played was The Lazy Song. It just had three notes which were C, F and G.

Active Listening | Kiwi Can

L.I to be a good Listener and a good communicator.
This Week in Kiwi Can we were learning about positive Relationships and positive communication. You can show that you are in a positive relationship when you are listening carefully to that person and communicating well with that person.

Our first energizer in Kiwi Can was Remote Control. This game was fun and Simple. So if Mr Alapati said play that means you have to walk. If he says stop that means you have to freeze. If he said rewind we had to walk backwards. If he said Slow Motion we had to walk slowly like if we were on the moon. We had Two Rounds of this game. It was Fun and extremely easy.

The Next thing that we had to do was Sit in a circle. We were talking about Active listening. For me active listening means listening carefully to what people are saying. If we didn't have active listening we would not be doing anything right.

The Next Activity that we had did was Chop Suey Salute. In this Game Mr Alapati had to say a number from 1 to five. We had to do some Combos that he has shown us. We also had to get into buddys to do it. So if the person that did the Combo fastest out of you and your partner you get a point. It was really Tiring.

I enjoyed this Kiwi sport because I got to learn some cool moves and why your listening is Important.

Brainstorming Numbers| Math

LI: to think flexibly about numbers.
This week in math we learned some math equations and facts about the number 50. The first thing that Mr. Wong did was tell us to get put into groups. Mr. Wong, for Example, had picked the number 24. What we had to do with that number was think about things that had to do with that number. After we had finished that we had to pick a number from 10 to 100. We decided to do the number 50. we had to do a lot of research on this but not that much math research. We first had to plan how we were going to make the poster look like. This was really easy until we found out that we had to make the page A4. It wasn't that hard because we got it done fast. I am really proud of how this poster turned out.

Nelson Fire | Reading

L.I to learn about a local event by reading it.

Music

L.I to learn the basics of Instruments.
This week Wednesday afternoon we had Music with Mrs Odie. First we had to sit on the floor and listen to what she was doing When she says sticks down that means we have to listen and stop. I picked my instrument which was Piano. We played the song One Call Away. The notes were A, C, F and G. It was really hard for me because She was manly.  talking about the xylophone. Another song that we had played was Shotgun. This was much easier because I didn't really need to play chords. I like going to music because you can learn new things and there is always time for improvement.

A Stinky Ride | Writing Recount

L.I To plan and write a recount.
This week for writing we were planning our recounts by brainstorming . First we had to get into to groups. Next Mr Ogilvie gave our group a number. our team got Number 7. We had to think about something that had to do with that number. For example 7 Eleven which is a store that has to do with the number seven. We had to put all of our Ideas into this . This was really fun and easy because we got to communicate more with each other and we got to learn more thing about each other. The next thing that we had to do was write a recount about something that we done in the school holidays. We had to get a sheet of paper and write down all of our ideas onto the paper just like we did on the other planning paper. I had done a lot of things in the holiday but one story was the most entertaining story. This story was about How we were getting ready for a church picnic but then when we got there something slimy happened. You can read the story to see what happened in this story.

The Game of Ki O rahi | Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn the origins and Basics of Ki O rahi.
This week Thursday It was our first Kiwisport of term 1. We were learning about Ki O rahi. Our coach for this week was Coach Shanice. The first thing that we had done In Kiwi Sport is watch a video. This Video was About Ki O Rahi. It is a game that back in the day that they used to sort out disagreements. The video was about how Rahi's Wife Te Ara gets Kidnapped by the spirits. So Rahi tries to find his wife but the spirits have made more forest so that Rahi could not come back to his wife. So Rahi made a Kite so he could go over the forest but the wind is to strong so he lands under a rock that was heated. So then he prays and he sees three stars in the sky so he knew that it was his father so his father made him a ice bridge to get his wife but the spirit didn't agree. So Rahi got his Supporters to target the spirits but then the spirit had enough and let his wife go. Then they went back to the village peacefully.

After that we went outside to play a game on the School basketball court. We had to get into two lines. The next game was Taniwha and Kioma. Our Team was Kioma and the boys were Taniwha. So if The coach said Taniwha we had to catch the boys. This went on five times. I was really fun to play because we got to tag any of the boys. The next game that we had played was 8 passes. This game our team had to wear bibs. Our had to pass the ball to each other . This was my favourite. We just had to do it up to three because we took to long. This was my favourite because it was challenging and t was similar to Netball.

Kiwi Can | Positive Relationships

L.I to have a positive relationship.
This week Wednesday it was our first kiwi can of the year. Our new theme is now Positive relationships and our Topic for the next three weeks is Positive Communication. When we first entered we had to sit in a circle. Our new Kiwi Can teachers are Mr Alapati and Mrs Paige.

Our first Energizer was Eyes up and down. How to play was that Mrs paige or Mr Alapati would say eyes up would mean you would have to look down and when she says eyes up you would have to look at a person but you have to only look at that person. You would also have to make sure they are not looking at you because if they do you are out. It was really fun to play and also challenging.

The next thing we did was talk about the rules in Kiwi Can. We had  couple of seconds to think of some rules that we would have to use in Kiwi Can or in class. Some rules that I could think of was

  1. Having a positive attitude
  2. Listening carefully
  3. being on your best behavior
  4. Don't talk over anybody when they are talking
  5. Respecting the teachers.
After talking about the rules we were moving unto the activities. For these activities we had to go outside so that there could be more space. Th8is game was called Midnight Tunnels. We first had to get into groups of three. We had to name yourself from 1 to 3. So when Mr Alapati called your number you would have to run around the whole circle and when you came back to your team they had made a tunnel for you to go through. This was really tiring and hard cause he could call your name two times.

The Next activity that we did was Jackey up. So we had to get into a pair. My pair was Angelica. This game was similar to the first one. So you had to go around your partner and then go around the whole circle and come back to your partner and hold their shoulders. Mrs paige could also say how we could run. This was really tiring and hard for me.

The next thing we had done was GKQ. Five people had to stand up at the same time. The buzzer was turn around touch the ground click click dab. My Question for GKQ was what Sports does the silver ferns play.  Fau answer with Netball which was right.

After this it was the end of Kiwi Can. I really enjoyed this Kiwi Can and playing the Games .

My Digital Setup

L.I to learn how to setup your Chromebook.
For this Weeks Cyber smart we were asked to make a slide of the things that we set up on our Chromebooks. The side shows most of the information. Something that I have learnt is that if you switch your keyboard to UK your keyboard won't be right. I enjoyed doing this because this taught me a lot of things to do on my Chromebook.
