Ki o Rahi | Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn the game of Ki o Rahi.
For Kiwi Sport we had done Ki o Rahi. Ki o Rahi is based on a myth story about how Rahi's wife gets kidnapped and Rahi tries to find her. Ki O Rahi was a game used to sort out disagreements.

How to play: The Game starts of with a person from the Red tag team had to start of with kicking the ball. If the ball lands in the Pawero(Island) the Kaitiaki(Gaurdians) have to pass it to a person in the world. I Kaitiaki don't catch the ball they have to pass the ball over to the other team. The people in the world have to hit a Pou(Taniwhas Teeth) and score a try in the middle. If they hit more than one pou that get more than one point.

Hauora | Inquiry

LI: to learn about Hauora.

For our inquiry we had learnt about hauora. Hauora is four dimensions. Those four dimensions are Physical, Mental/emotional, Spiritual and social.  These four dimensions can be explained in the third poster.

First Activity: In this first activity we had to pick an object that has four things on it. For example a table, has four legs that helps it stand. We had chose a plane. In our groups we picked a part of the plane to do. We also choose what dimension we had to do. I had picked Social . Social means a relationship with someone.

Second Activity: For the second activity there were four dimensions named in Maori. Taha Tinana- Physical Well Being, Taha Hinengaro-Mental and Emotional Well Being, Taha Whanau-Social Well Being and Taha Wairua-Spiritual Well Being. In our partners we had to put the white boxes with text in them into where they should go.

Third Activity: In the last activity we had made a copy of a google Draw that looked similar to the second poster. In each box of dimension we had to list good things to do and bad things to do with those dimension's.

Charles Fredrick Alison | Reading

L.I to research a range of resources of information.
Our goal for Mr O's reading groups was to make an infographic about our soldier. In class Mr. O set out 32 different objects that represent a soldier. These objects were actually used by these soldier in WW2 or 1. I have chose the notes that Charles Fredrick Alison has wrote. Charles was one three brother to go serve overseas. In this note Charles wrote to his mother if she had heard from Cook and Johnny. He has also told his mom about what it was like in the army. We had to make an Infographic showing the story behind the object.

This week Wednesday afternoon we had Music. Five other students and I went outside Room 8 to play some ukulele. We also took out some songs. Most of the songs we didn't know about but the only song that I knew was Thunder and Shotgun. Kiwi Can

L.I to build positive Relationships.
Today in Kiwi Can we were learning about Friendship. We learnt that there are times we can say No!

We discussed different ways to say NO we discussed that don't cause disrespect. We did a activity called empathy role play. A group acted out a situation and as a class, we needed to decide the way to say no.
The options were:
  • No thanks!
  • Let's do something else instead
  • It's just not my thing
  • That's not a nice thing to do.

Imaginative recount | Writing

L.I to write an imaginative recount.
This week for writing we had to make a plan of red riding hood. We also had to be a character. Our character that we chose to be was little red riding.  In this slide we had to fill out TREE(Title, Reveal, Events and Ending). In the Title we had to  choose a title to use. For reveal we had to answer When, Where, Who and Hook. In events we had to bullet point what we were going to write in the Events. In the 6th slide, we had to make different title ideas for little red riding hood. For the 7th slide we had to write down what we were going to write down in our story for the first paragraph.

Statistics | Math

L.I to learn something about the class or school using statistics.
This week for maths we had cleaned up our data. For our statistics survey we asked LS1 and room 5 our survey about Where is the most popular place you like to sit and rest around PBS. When we had finished asking everybody we had to clean up the data.
