Hockey

This morning my class walked joyfully to the school hall to learn how to play hockey. Our teacher was a lady. I was very excited to play hockey.

First we played a warm up game called Rob the Nest. We had to run as fast as we could to get the balls from the main nest and other teams nest.

                                         

Then we learned how to dribble the ball with a hockey stick. It was hard to control and stop the ball.

Next we learnt how to juggle with the hockey stick. Our hockey stick had to be under our arm pit. It was difficult to bounce the ball on the stick and  catch it .          

Finally we had a team challenge game.   We were happy because our team won. The scores were four to two.

I was happy to play hockey because I learned new things, and because it was fun.   

I wrote a recount about our hockey game. I tried to remember what a recount story must have.

1.The dog is asleep. [ a simple sentence]

2.The white dog is asleep.[ I added an adjective]

                                     noun

3.The white dog is asleep at the park.[I added where the dog is]

4.The white dog is asleep at the park, and he’s snoring. [ I added a connecting word to make a compound sentence]

1.I like my book.

2.I like my chapter book, and I will read it before I go to sleep.

Today I was learning how to stretch out a simple sentence and make it in to a compound sentence.

How to make a Vertical garden

If you follow these instructions you will successfully make a vertical garden.

You will need:

• A plastic bottle          
• Water
• Compost
• String
• Bottle
• Bottle lid
• Herbs
• Scissors
• Hole punch

               

                                    Method

1 Plan your vertical garden with your team.

2 Cut the bottom of your plastic bottle.

3 Make a hole on the sides of the bottle.

4 Tie the strings through the holes.

5 Close the mouth of the bottles with a lid.

6 Put the soil and compost in to the bottle.

7 Plant the herb in the bottle.

8 Hang up your vertical garden.

9 Water your plant
