Where is the most popular place in PBS | Statistics | Maths

For math we had been learning about statistics. Statistics is analyzing numbers from information gathered to answer questions. We had to split our group into two groups. Each group had to present a presentation about What is the most popular place to sit and rest and PBS. I had missed out on the presentation because I was sick but my group had showed me had happened. In this slide it is showing the Conclusion, our graphs and the group scores.

Term 1 kiwi can over view

LI: To recap everything we did in kiwi can.
Today for LS1 group B had recapped the learning that we had learnt in kiwi can. Our theme for kiwi can was positive relationships. We also had three topics with it and they were Positive Communication, Friendship and Cooperation.

Our energizer that we had played was last man standing and our activity was netball tag. For our discussion we had to get into three groups. In those groups Mr H gave us one of the topics. My group had friendship. In our groups we had to answer the five w's and the how for friendship. We use friendship to gain someone's respect and to be kind to others.

One thing I enjoyed was the  games we played in kiwi can. I had learnt about different ways we can communicate, like through dance. I think that I should get better at listening carefully to who is talking.

Ki o Rahi | Kiwi Sport

L.I to learn the game of Ki o Rahi.
For Kiwi Sport we had done Ki o Rahi. Ki o Rahi is based on a myth story about how Rahi's wife gets kidnapped and Rahi tries to find her. Ki O Rahi was a game used to sort out disagreements.

How to play: The Game starts of with a person from the Red tag team had to start of with kicking the ball. If the ball lands in the Pawero(Island) the Kaitiaki(Gaurdians) have to pass it to a person in the world. I Kaitiaki don't catch the ball they have to pass the ball over to the other team. The people in the world have to hit a Pou(Taniwhas Teeth) and score a try in the middle. If they hit more than one pou that get more than one point.

Hauora | Inquiry

LI: to learn about Hauora.

For our inquiry we had learnt about hauora. Hauora is four dimensions. Those four dimensions are Physical, Mental/emotional, Spiritual and social.  These four dimensions can be explained in the third poster.

First Activity: In this first activity we had to pick an object that has four things on it. For example a table, has four legs that helps it stand. We had chose a plane. In our groups we picked a part of the plane to do. We also choose what dimension we had to do. I had picked Social . Social means a relationship with someone.

Second Activity: For the second activity there were four dimensions named in Maori. Taha Tinana- Physical Well Being, Taha Hinengaro-Mental and Emotional Well Being, Taha Whanau-Social Well Being and Taha Wairua-Spiritual Well Being. In our partners we had to put the white boxes with text in them into where they should go.

Third Activity: In the last activity we had made a copy of a google Draw that looked similar to the second poster. In each box of dimension we had to list good things to do and bad things to do with those dimension's.

Charles Fredrick Alison | Reading

L.I to research a range of resources of information.
Our goal for Mr O's reading groups was to make an infographic about our soldier. In class Mr. O set out 32 different objects that represent a soldier. These objects were actually used by these soldier in WW2 or 1. I have chose the notes that Charles Fredrick Alison has wrote. Charles was one three brother to go serve overseas. In this note Charles wrote to his mother if she had heard from Cook and Johnny. He has also told his mom about what it was like in the army. We had to make an Infographic showing the story behind the object.

  • It's just not my thing
  • That's not a nice thing to do.
