Kiwi Sport | Swimming

Today In Kiwi Sport we have been learning how to swim safely in water. I have enjoyed doing this terms Kiwi Sport because e get to learn new skills is water. Our teacher for this weeks Kiwi Sport was Helen.

The First thing we did was answer Questions. Helen Asked us questions and we had to answer them. The First question was What do you do when you are stuck in a rip? when you are stuck in a rip first you put your hand straight in the air and call for help. What part of the pool do you swim in? you swim between the flags. What is it called when you get really cold? Hypothermia.

After answering questions we got on to sculling. When we skull we put our hands straight together and dive into the water and paddle with your legs. We had to scull to the other platform and swim back to the platform we started on. We done that three times.

When we finished doing that we had to feet first with your hands sculling. You use this strategy when you are in a river . You use this in a river because your legs can help you bump off the rocks. We done that two times going to the other platform and to the platform we started on.

After that we had to dive and get these rubber duckies in the water. It was two at a time. For me it was Me and Lukah. It was really fun to dive.

After we finished doing that we started to do treeding. You can use treading when you are in deep water. We got a noodle and but it at the back of us. We ha to treed for three minutes. We thought that it was hard but when we tried it, It was not that bad. After that we had to treed without the noodle for one minute. We done surprisingly good.
