What Is peace | Inquiry

L.I is to learn what peace means to you.
This week in Inquiry we were learning about Peace. On Tuesday on our first inquiry session of the week we were learning about the vocabulary of peace in groups of five. We had to do synonyms and antonyms of peace. Their was a price for the most words but we didn't win. After that we split our group into pairs and groups of three. I was in the group of three. It was me Miiana and Fau. the slide had images and we had to put on three words that could describe the images. after that we had to write a sentence with those words in them. When we finished that we had to write perspectives of the images. When we finished doing all of that we had to make a slide of what is peace. We were meant to make a poster but i did the slide.

Kiwi Sport Boxing

L.I is to learn how to defend in boxing.
This week in boxing sessions we learnt more about defense. Our teacher for this weeks boxing was Bax.

The first thing we did was recap what we learnt last Thursday. Last week Thursday we learnt how to block our head from getting hit.

After that Bax told us to get into partners. I didn't have a partner so I partnered up with Pua. We had to Agree on who was going to be partner one and partner two. I was Partner one. Partner one had to get there gloves in 90 seconds and partner two had to get the noodles. When we sat down Bax showed us what to do. What we had to do was the second partner had to hit you with the two noodles and I had to block my head with my gloves and when we did that we had to cross and hook left. It was hard to do it but it started to get easier.

The next one was when the two noodles had to be straight and we had to go under it and the direction that we go under, we have to uppercut with that hand. In this one we had to hold the noodles before it falls and I just hit the air.

After a couple of more defense's and combo's, we had to switch over. We just repeated what we did with partner one.

In this Boxing Session I have learnt how to defense and duck under.

The Grinch who stole christmas | Writing | Conflict

L.I is to learn what the conflict and the causes that happened in the book.
This week in writing Mr O read us a story about the grinch who stole christmas. This was like the lorax but it was a different story. When we finished with the story we had to copy the DLO and do all the information about the story. After that when it was our next session of writing Mrs Morrison read us the story again so we could get it in our head. I showed it to Our teacher so that she could let me blog.
Some of the conflicts was Conflict vs self.

Kiwi Can

L.I is to respect your Environment.
This week in Kiwi Can we have been learning about Respect for our community. Our new theme and topic is Respect and For our Environment. Our teachers for this week's Kiwi Can was  Mr Matt and Mrs Paige.

What is an environment? Environment is the things around our communities.
How Can we show Respect to our environments? We can show Respect to our Environment by picking up rubbish that is around and we can keep it clean and safe.
Our Environments are very important because they can protect us and they help us live.

Some Of our games that we played were Tic-Tac-Toe and Snake. These games were so fun to play. Tic-Tac-Toe was hard and Snake was exhausting.

Maori

L.I is to learn how to understand Maori.
This week in Maori we learnt how to say words in Maori. Our teacher was Mrs Odie. What we had to do first was make a copy of the google doc that Mrs Odie made. it showed Maori words that we had to connect with the English words. it was hard. 'She also called out  groups of people to learn Maori words on the mat. I got the word Ihu aporo. After that we had to sit on the mat so that Mrs Odie could mark our work of the google doc. The bell rang so we didn't have much time.

Cybersmart

L.I is to be smart on the internet.
This Morning we did Cyber smart as our first subject. We learnt how to be smart. We first played a game. In this game it showed grades first. I am in grade five so I had to pick grade five. When we clicked on it, it had different levels. We got to pick the level that we wanted to start with. I managed to get to level 6. Level 6 was so hard because it was a word search and some of the words were backwards and they were tiny so we really had to look carefully. It was so fun. We had to make a quiz on Google Form about how you can be safe on the internet. One way of being safe on the internet is to not give personal in formation about your self on social media or on games.

Inferring | Reading

L.I is to learn how to infer by looking at an image.
For the past two weeks for reading we have been learning how to infer by looking at an image. This has helped me alot with inferring.

What is the meaning of infer?When the author gives clues about how the character is feeling.

How did we learn how to infer? We learnt how to infer by looking at images and working together in our groups and collaborating. 

This week instead of Mr Wong putting images on for us to infer we had to watch a video called For the birds. This video had a lot of clues of how the character was feeling. The first inference we made was with  our reading groups.

The Lorax | Wrting

L.I is to learn the conflicts in the story.
This week for Writing Mr O read us a story about the Lorax. We had to do a Plot Diagram about the story. I didn't really get it but then I got help from Mrs Daf. On The Exposition it is the Introduction, The Rising Action is what happens next after the Introduction. The Climax is when the conflicts starts to happen, The falling action is what leads to the Resolution and the Resolution is what saves the Problem.

Basic facts boxes

L.I is to learn the basics of basic facts.
Today I did a Can do. This Can do is Basic Facts Boxes. The is helps me by learning the basics of addition and subtraction. This helps me by remembering my basic facts.

SSR selfie

Today I did SSR selfie.
What is SSR selfie ? SSR Selfie is a slide about when the book you have read from the library. I enjoy doing SSR selfie because I get to share the books that I have read with other people. The book that I got from the library was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Boxing | Kiwi sport

L.I is to learn how to defence in boxing.
This week in kiwi sport we have been learning about boxing. What we learnt this week was defence . We got into partners first. I got into groups of three because one girl wasn't in a group. Me and Sakina got into our gloves and the other girl(Alayah) had to get a noodle. She had to get two so that she could use it for me and Sakina. What me had to do is blok our head . So when our gloves are on our checks we had to drag it up to our forehead. The person with the noodle had to hit our forehead and we had to block.

Inferring | reading

L.I is to learn how to infer by looking at a image.
This week in Reading we have been learning about Inferring. Mr Wong made a slide with Images on them. On those Images we had to Infer about that image. He also did an Example for us so that we would have a better understanding for what to do. We also had to get into partners so that we could talk to each other about our inferences that we make. My partner for this was Charlize. It was good to have a partner so that we could talk about our ideas and get to share them.

Maori

L.I is to learn how to pronounce words in maori. 

This week in Maori We made a hate to make a poster. Mrs Odie brange in a paper. We had to get into partners. My partner was Miiana. On the sheet was a words that were Maori on one side and English on the end of the the other side. She gave us numbers and that was the words that we had to do. Our words were Cake, Biscuit, Pie and Donut. We had to translate some of the words into Maori.

Trench Warfare

L.L is to learn the Effects and Causes that happened in WW1.
This Week in Inquiry we have been learning about the conflicts that has happened. This week we learned about the trenches. Some parts of the Trench's is the Dugout. the dugout is a place where soilders can Sleep, eat and drink.

This week in Kiwi Can we Have been learning for Respect. The Theme and Topic for Kiwi Can is Respect for our Community. I can show respect to my community by picking up rubbish and helping them.
Who are people In our Community? People that are in community's are people that are in the same area as us and people that can help you.

Muiltiplication

L.I is to to proof and show how you did your math Equation.
This week for math we got to pick out of the four operations that we are going to be making a DLO about.  we also had to choose if we were going to either do a slide, Poster, Animation or a video. I choose to do a slide about Multiplication. Proofing it was the hardest thing for me. I was really confused at first but then I started to understand what to do. Fau Helped me with this.

Character kete | Reading Can Do

L.I is infer about a character in the book.
In Reading this week I did a can do called Character Kete. This Can Do is fun to do because I get to tell people about the charter that is in this Story and what this person is like. The Story that I had read today was emily Feather and the secret mirror. This story is about a girl named Emily Feather who believes in magical things like Fairies.

Maori

L.I is to learn more information about Paikea and teach people information about Paikea.

This week in Maori Ode Johnson our teacher for Maori has been teaching us about Paikea. Paikea is a whale that was attacked. We had to get the information that we already knew about and but it into a poster.

Kiwi Can | Respect for our communities.

L.I is to have respect for our communities.
THis week in Kiwi Can Group B have been learning about Respect for our communities. Our teachers for Kiwi Can was Mr Matt and Mrs Paige.

Our First Energizer was called remote. Remote is a game basically about an remote. So when  Mr Matt  say's PLAY that means you can walk around and do whatever you want. When he says rewind that means you have to go back. When He says fast forward that means we have to go really fast and when he say's Pause that means you have to Stop and jump. It was even harder because He go to say words like touch your ears and that would make us do that instead of doing the other things. When the game started I was so hype but when it went to the other words I was frozen. I got out for the last one.

We had another round of it. It was even harder because he added a new word STOP. STOP means you have to stop and lay down. I got out of the first one because I was mixed up with Pause and stop.

The Next activity was Invisible touch. What we first had to do was split up into two teams. When we split up into two teams Mr Matt had to call a number and that number was the number of people that had to play. It was so fun but tiring.

When it was done We talked about Respect for our communities. You can show respect for your community for Emergency services is saying hi And Cleaning up rubbish.

Max gimblett

L.I is to learn about a artist.
Today I made a slide where we have to make a quatrefoil. This was inspired my Matt gimblett. We had to be in partners. we also had to choose a different partner. My partner was Florence. It was easy for me because we just needed to find information.

Manaiakalani film festival

This week on Wednesday we went to the Manaiakalani film festival. This film festival took place at the Hoyts movies at Silvia Park. We had to go by bus there. Each class went in one bus. The bus was really crowded with people in my class. It was also hot inside the bus. When we got there we had to stand in two straight lines with a mix boy and girl so that we wouldn't talk to each other. We walked in two straight lines to the Movies. While walking we saw a lot of other schools. I saw a lot of people I knew. When we got there we went into the door that lead us into the big screen. I sat at the right side of the movies. When it started I was so excited. Our school had four movies. My favorite movie out of my school was My classes one. It was so cool and funny. When it was the end of it we headed back to class.
I enjoyed the film festival because I got to see a lot of films and learn some things.

This week Wednesday we went to the film festival at the movies. When we got back from the film festival we had to comment on schools film and give honest opinions about their film.

Kiwi Can

L.I is to have Respect for your Community's.
This week in Kiwi Can our new topic for kiwi can was Respect for your community. To show respect for your community's you can pick up rubbish, say hi to them if you see them and by keeping your environment safe and clean. Our teachers for Kiwi Can was Mr Matt and Mrs Paige.

The energizer for this week was can you catch me. To play this game the first instruction that Mr Matt gave us was to stand in a circle. Then everyone had to put there left palm open and our right hand pointing the person next to them's palm. The worked by if Mr Matt said GO! we would have to try and catch the person next to them's finger and we had to try and dodge with your right hand. It was so fun. I got out when the circle started to get small. It was hard because you had to do them a the same time.

After doing this we had talked about respecting your community. We can show respect to our community by Picking up rubbish and keeping your environment clean and safe.

The activity for this week was ten second tag. This game was really fun to play. To play this game Mr Matt had to chose a person's name. When he said that person's name that person had to tag someone before ten seconds. The last person who is the tagger is out.

WW1 Armistic day

L.I is to learn about Armistice day.
Today I have learnt about armistice day is. Armistice day is every year on November 11 o show the sign that the Armistice signed with the Allies signed. Mr O sent us a slide that we had to work on with a partner. The person that I worked with was Farzana. When we got into partners we started. We worked on different slides so that it would be faster. After we did that we sat on the floor to share information with other people about Armistice day.

Addition and Subtraction

Today I did a can do for maths. This Can Do was the first math can do that I have did. I asked Charlize to help me because I didn't know how to do it. She gave me a lot of help.

SSR Selfie

Today I did SSR Selfie. SSR selfie is a slide that our class does that shows other people the book that we have read from the libary. This is fun because I get to tell people about amazing books that I have red

WW1 Battles and Weapons

L.I is to learn what really happened in WW1.
This term for Inquiry we had been learning about WW1.  This week for Inquiry we had to do another timeline. This one there was questions and we had to explain what happened. There were links to websites. They helped a lot. The other slide was about weapons that soldiers used in WW1. We also had to talk about how it effected WW1. I also Partnered up with my Partner Angelica. She helped by telling me some of the information.

Fraction Problems.

L.I is to make a slide showing fraction problems.
This week in math we had learnt about how to solve fraction problems. What we had to do is get into groups of three. The people that were in my group was Fau and Sakina. when we got split into groups we had to get beans. Mr O helped us how to do an equation and how to solve them. When he taught us we had to make up one and tell it to the whole class so that they could try to find out the answer. This was really fun, but also Confusing because I didn't really get it.

Boxing Sessions

This term for Kiwi Sport we have been learning about Boxing. Our teacher for boxing was Pax. Pax is a boxer. She has had two fights. Her first fight was for her charity. The rules in boxing are Respect for Peers, Equipment and Coach. When we finished talking about the rules Pax asked us about we learnt last week for boxing. Last week for boxing we learnt ow to jab, Cross and Get into our rock position. after this we had to get our gloves. We had to get gloves so that our sweat wouldn't go into the gloves. The challenge was that we had to do it in 90 seconds. After that we had to stand up in a circle. When we did that we had to do a Jab and cross. When we finished we had to partner up with someone. My partner was Sakina. I was Partner two and she was partner one. The first thing that we had to do learn how to walk back in a rock and forwards in a rock. To do it forward you have to be in your rock position and step forward with your left foot and then you move forward with your right foot. We also had to watch our distance. After that we learnt how to uppercut. We had to do a uppercut ten times. Partner one went first. they done it ten times. When she finished I had to do it. After that we learnt how to hook. It went like last time where partner one had to go first but ten times.

Improving in my Writing

L.I is to Learn how to Improve your Writing.
This week in writing we had a writing test. What we had to do for writing was Highlight the Punctuation, Exciting vocab and the words that are like When and After. We had to make a slide. We also had to write about TREE.
