Te Reo Maori Atctivity 5 | Week 1 | Summer Learning Journey

L.I to learn how to pronouce maori Sentences.

In this DLO at the top, LS2 had the oppurtunity to work with the Room 5 students to help them with their Te Reo Maori Knowledge. Mayshar and I had worked together to try find out which words best fit into the sentences. In this activity, we were asked to listen to an audio that conncluded a maori sentence. On the next slide we had to to match the words to create the sentence. Another part of this activity was to draw a picture of an activity that, me and my family members would do. I drew a image of me and family members at the beach. I drew this, because my family mostly likes going ot the beach, as it brings them joy and makes them remember how they lived in the islands. Here are the results.

  1. Kia ora Sulia,

I really liked reading your blog post today! I liked how you have explained what you did in the activities as it helps the reader understand what you are talking about. Did you find this activity easy and why? Next time try to check your blurb before publishing it as it has some spelling mistakes. Did you use maori dictionary for this activity? Was it helpful?

Keep up the great work! I am looking forward for your reply

    1. Hey Sakshi,

Sorry for the late reply. I found this activity fairly easy because, I have been doing Te Reo Maori at school, so it was easy for me to follow along. No, I did not use a maori dictionary. I simply just used my Maori Knowledge, and the audio to help with it.

What did you find hard about this activity?

      Thank you!

  2. Kia ora Sulia, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey team.

Great start on your “What are you doing today” activity! I really like your use of te reo and that you shared your learning process!

Looking back on the task, I see that there is one part you haven’t included yet - the create section asks you to draw a picture of you and your whānau doing the activity you chose. It would be great to see you finish this off so I can give you some points for it!

I’ll check back later to see how you’re getting on!

    Ngā mihi,
    Elle (SLJ)

  3. Kia Ora Sulia,

Reading your blurb was really interesting I really liked how you worked with another class for this activity as you could work together collaboratively. You have done an amazing job with this activity and looking through your work has shown that you have learnt more about the Maori language. I really like your illustration of the beach I think that it is a very well done drawing.

    Keep Up the Great work!
